General questions about our online advice service
Yes, the Caritas online advice service is absolutely confidential. The counsellors of the counselling centre are bound to secrecy. If any information is being passed to external it is only by your consent.
No, the online advice service is free of charge for those seeking help.
Without registration you can use the instant chat anonymously.
For online mail support or for video/chat appointments a registration is required. We aim to reply to you within 48 hours. As you have to provide an e-mail address for the registration, you will receive notification e-mails as soon as an answer is available.
By clicking on the “instant chat” bubble or by selecting the “instant chat” in the menu you will be able to see if counsellors are available and online. If so you can start an instant chat. No registration is required. Start the chat and type in your questions. If the counsellors are offline the instant chat cannot be started.
After the registration you can book an appointment for a video chat or a text chat. Please note that the appointment must be confirmed by the advisor. Only then the appointment is finally booked.
You can upload relevant documents and we ask you to be punctual for the meeting. To access the meeting please use the provided link.
For video chat appointments you will receive a Zoom link.
Please note - in order to access the appointment via zoom on your smartphone it is required to download the zoom app.
Forgotten your password? No problem, you can reset it. If you use the reset function an e-mail with detailed instructions will be sent to the mail address provided. This means you can again access to your account and all the messages and documents. Furthermore E-mail notifications can be sent when the e-mail address is registered.
For your information the advisors have no access to your e-mail address. They can only see your user name.
